My husband had a child when he was 17 yr old. with a 15 yr old girl. he hasn't seen the child for 6 yrs., we finally got our lives in order and now we want to see the child. Is their any chance of that happening? His name is on the birth certificate.

You should try contacting the mother just to see what she says. If she won't let him see the child then you will have to hire an attorney. Your husband is going to have to pay support when he does this but don't let that stand in the way of not seeing his son. For you I commend you because you are giving your man the support that he needs in order to follow through with trying to see his child. You must be a very good women. There are not alot of women out there that would even make an effort to help their man see a child that he hasn't seen in so long. I praise you! Stick by his side, it may be a bumpy road for a little while.

Yes, first step is contacting the mother. However, she may be bitter, then you may have to go through the court system. But don't give up. A child needs their father, and step mother! It is important to have healthy relationships. Please give your husband the support he needs, he will appreciate you for it!
