People say that you have to use a moisturizer after using the toner.
Supposedly is good for controlling oil and avoid the pores get clogged, but it makes my face oilier, and I have noticed that I have tiny black heads in certain areas like my chin. My face is naturally oily.

Am I suppose to use moisturizer? What is the purpose of it?

It's the same as how you're not supposed to wash your hair everyday. Washing (hair and face) strips your body of natural oils. The skin (or hair) reacts by overproducing oils. In turn, many people wash more, apply less moisturizer or use harsher, alcohol based toners. The cycle continues, and the skin produces more oil to counter the person's regime.

Sure, immediately after using moisturizer, your skin will be oilier. Probably for about a week or 2. After that, your skin will learn to adjust, it will begin to learn that it no longer needs to produce as much natural oil, and it iwll be less oily, and healthier.

Even people with oily skin need moisturizer to keep skin elastic and hydrated (also drink lots of water to help that even more). However, oily skin needs an oil-free, non-comedogenic lightweight moisturizer (avoid any heavy night creams). Try Oil of Olay or Biore or Proactiv. Also, the only way to get rid of the blackheads and really refresh your skin is a facial every couple of months.

You need to find the right kind of moisturizer... I too have an oily face, and don't use moisturizer as much as I should. It's purpose is to make your skin healthy and to do what it's name suggests - to moisturize the skin.

You ARE supposed to use moisturizer if you have oily skin...It helps out the oil glands so they dont have to be so over active and make oil lost from the moisturizer. ...(did that make sense, I hope!) I usually just put it on before bed and no other time . . .

I agree, I never liked to use moisturizer when I was younger, as my skin was oily, and it made it look worse. People kept saying to use these special moisturizers for oily skin, but they still didn't help. I only use it now that I'm older as my skin is drier, and it definitely helps to apply the foundation more evenly.

All skin needs moisture. Even oily skin, which it sounds like you have. Try looking for a moisturizer which says it's for oily skin.

If your face is naturally oily you obviously DON'T need to use any type of moisturizer because your face is already moisturized.
