From what I understand, they are currently working on "Pirates of the Carribbean 3" and Jack Sparrow is back, along with his father, played by a special Rolling Stones band member. The rest of the regular cast is also back. Should be out next year. Word was, this one was deliberately supposed to be a clift-hanger in preperation for the third and final movie as it was also said that the movies were originally planned as a trilogy.

Jack will be rescued by Will and gang in the 3rd movie from Davy Jones Locker.

Yes, at the end it LOOKS like he dies, but you need to see it for yourself. He will be back!! It's the way he 'dies' that I didn't care for but again, you need to see it to get the whole story. It really is worth it unlike the Superman flick which was ridiculous. Goooooo Seeeee ittttttttttt!!! You'll love it!!

Jack does not die. He escapes from the kracken and appears in the 3rd movie. You should go watch it. It's very good.

Supposedly he does, but they all had a three year contract. Tia said they were gonna sail to the ends of the Earth and beyond.
