"Freedoms' just another word for nothing left to lose.." I say that somewhat tongue in cheek. A man is free when there are no obligations to bind him SAVE ONE. Allegiance to the Country that many have sacrified and died for from the Revolutionary War (total 8 years, roughest 6 years). Yankee Doodle paid a price to live here, if you do not lose your "rights" and differentiate between a right and a priviledge.
*If the voters voted, got an electorial college that reflected that State's views, we have a means for not only change of Republic but any entity voters would vote in.
**It is not my job to analyze and pontificate about the global situation save the prayer my family gets out and others' wanting to get out are able.**
**The global situation has been building since "Greenlands' Icy Shores". If you do not like where you are living and the price you pay to live there ie. here, check out the "freedoms" of other countries and take your pick. As for me and mine, the USA, purchased with the blood of our ancestors and many, many more, is where I will lay my blood down. And friend, I am 150% below the poverty level due to my disability, cannot take my powerchair anywhere because I have no vehical to do so, and it gets mighty hot down here close to the border. Where I live, there is great bias against the poor. I have truly looked and lived on both sides of the USA, from rich to where I am now. I pushed my freedom to choose to the max during the VietNam war, worked in the trenches feeding innocent black children early every morning then got beat up going home. Joined the Peace Corp. Freedom is how you interpret the word. Is how much of politics you have delved into in an effort to understand what makes our country one nation, under God.... And how much you care to care. Study the Annals of American History. We need to get our freedom loving Americans' to open their mouth, study, vote and use the measures our forefathers put in the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights and keep your eye on our freedom(s) lest apathy enter and we fall with a "whisper" as did the USSR. PS: We left the Old World except the Native Americans. The cost of freedom as the oppressed stepped off at Ellis Island, says it all in their faces, new American names for many with hope for a life with their agency to choose, among many things, their faith. For them "freedom was just another word for nothing left to loose" so they left their homes and families for the Freedom of America.

First off, please let your brother know that, while people may be opposed to the war, we know that people who are serving over there are, mostly, doing their best in a very difficult and bad situation.
It's way to simple to think this war was "all about oil," at least, in the way most people think. It's also not true that it was about terrorism, since the President lied about the links between Iraq and Al Qaida, and Saddam's support for terrorists.
Things are going on that ordinary people are not informed about; decisions are being made, but the people are being given lies and half-truths. Too many people don't want to question why there is a war, or to question the decisions that are being made, when that is exactly what they should be doing in a democracy.
If the government can't, or won't explain what is going on and why, then the people must hold them to account.

I do to baby. My grandson is going at the end of the month. This war is a full of sh!t as that freakin' BB Brain we've let become president. I wonder if our government realizes how angry the citizens are becoming (both sides).
I work for a company of goosestepping rightwing murder-loving Christians. My opinions are forbidden at work but the bosses pet has hate slogan bumper stickers all over her office window... facing out.
I know better than to bring anything that might hint at democracy knowing I will face some form of retribution.

The true price of American freedom can be measured by the cost of a box of bullets/shells at your local wal-mart/k-mart store. Americans are free to be afraid of their neighbour as soon as the sun sets and because of the current administration you are free to be afraid of the acts of violence perpetrated by anti-American interests anywhere in the world. Be grateful your petty fuel costs are as low as they are and know that this war is more about ideology than it is about oil. So, get used to walking to work and pray you are not on the night shift!

Freedom? Well, it's just all so silly to me. Why not elminate true terrorists if neccassary and establish peace of heart, that is the most important thing to maintain, otherwise we'll have this constant worry. It's not acceptable, it's just not too unpreventable. I hope that answers it.

What is the true price of our "so-called freedom? Ask your brother, he knows. If he comes home alive and unscathed, his experiences will be with him until the end.
The only thing more expensive than freedom is?

What else can we do? I guess we could just let the Islamic extremists do what they want. We could let them come in and destroy our people and bomb our airplanes and buildings. That is not what America is about. We are good friends if other countries treat us with respect. We do not let other people destroy us.

freedom has whatever value you put on it
many people have been willing to die and lose all that they have to protect it
