#1 Sleepier, more passive students :>
Actually, if classes are earlier, they let out earlier and students have more of the day to do things they like, or need to do. Students have more opportunities to work, play sports, do extra curriculars, etc.
I remember when I first started teaching, there was a debate between two teachers in my department. The "cool" teacher (as defined by students) argued that we should start classes for high school students later because they performed better. His example was that his 1st period classes always had lower grades than his later classes.
The "Mean" teacher (not to me, but he really was a grump to students), said he got better performance out of students in the mornings and 6th period was always his lowest scoring.
Hope this helps.

u get out a bit earlier and have more time afterschool to do what u want.
there are 3 different school hour schedules at my school that u can pick from. i wanted to try something different this year by choosing my classes for early mornings...i really didn't like having to get up early in the mornings, but i got out earlier than my other peers and had more time to do what i wanted afterschool.
but what sucked was, i started school at 7am and my first class in the morning i dreaded!!!! out of all of my 6 classes, that was the one i felt like ditching. and i had to get up early in the morning to get to it.

As a victim of early school hours, I can honestly say that it totally sucks. I hate getting up so early. I think the performance of many students is hurting because of the early morning classes.
