Would anyone really miss Texas if it were gone? Doubtful.

That has to be one of the stupidest things I've seen on yahoo answers. I mean... first, the US didn't "take" Texas from Mexico. Texas won Independence from Mexico similar to the original 13 colonies winning Independence form England.
After Texas won Independence (remember the Alamo? San Jacinto?), it was an independent Republic (and some say still is). Texas joined the US as a state.
Saying "give Texas back to Mexico" is like saying "send all blacks back to Africa" or "send all whites back to Europe". Do you also want to give Manhattan back to the Indians (the "native" American type... not the ones from India) How about we give Louisiana back to France? (which is an equally stupid idea since i don't want to show a passport to go to the french quarter or get some blackened gator...)
Maybe you should go back to posting your "I'm 12 and I think I'm pregnant" questions and leave the serious issues to grown ups.

What kind of talk is this? Why would anyone want to give Texas away? I do not where you are getting your information from, but I disagree with you that some of the most "braggardly", whatever that means, live here. Texas is a wonderful place to live. I'll admit it has its down side, but what state doesn't. Texas has some of the most honest, reliable people there is. I would want anyone from Texas watching my back, just as I would watch theirs. You must be from the North.

Heck, if the Bush family and all their pals go with Texas, I'm all for it! Maybe they will, also, take some of the illegal aliens (that Bush is trying to give citizenship) with them. I think they are, about, the only people left in this country that still like him. I know we would be much better off if he had never been elected the first time. The second term has been so bad, I don't think we know all the ramifications of that, yet.

I, personally think mkesico can have Texas back if the people in Mexico can continue to stay there and immigrants do not keep coming to the United States in great waves like they have. The population explosion is continuing at an alarming rate.

Well, I know there are good folks in Texas... but yes, you're correct, there are a few bad apples. But to answer your question... no. Many died to make Texas part of the United States... we honor the dead by recognizing their supreme sacrifice and keeping the hard-fought soil.
