It does seem to be pretty harsh sometimes. They do argue that the truth is neither fair nor kind. They seem to stem from the tough love school of thought or the master dictator.

We on the left, we come from the lets talk it out and resolve our differences; we don't want to really offend anyone while trying to get our point across. We tend to be the benevolent dictator and remember it is our guy who wanted to "feel your pain".

Also, most people who don’t understand an issue usually result to name calling and insults to justify their positions. It happens on both sides, i.e. right wing wackjob, liberal hippie freak, evil doer, un-American, Jesus freak, tree hugger, tax and spend liberal, waffler. Remember you lose the debate when you result to name calling and solve nothing.

That is just an observation. Blue House '06!

I don't feel that is the case. But, I do see all kinds of hateful remarks coming from the left.

Actually, the remarks on this question are quite restrained. You can go back to the right wing bashing on the next question.

I think they tried the Christian way - turn the other cheek. Well they saw they were losing the moral hold on America.
They had to change their strategy if they had any hope of reclaiming the values on which America was built.
At least that is my opinion. I am not part of the Right.

cos they're diks? haha j/k. well, not really. conservatives are generally closed-minded, angry, old-fashioned, non-progressive, traditional, unchanging, etc.. as you said, inflexible. so they get threatened easily. this makes them more aggressive and oh let's not forget how INtolerant they are. all this is really common sense, isn't it?

p.s. the comments below make the point that the left does the same thing, which is true. gee, if you are disparaged and called wimpy simply for being reasonable and rational that is what happens

It is because their entire value and belief structure is built upon lies. When you challenge the delusion of a Psychotic, the first thing he or she does is defend that delusion. THUS when you challenge the delusion of the conservatives right columns as you put it. the first thing they do is go into defense mode.

Hmmm... I'll agree that extremists on both ends of the spectrum can be quite rude, but frankly I see it more from the Left "column" more often.

They're used to screwing everyone with their policies, which pretty much means that they've been desensitized to things like politeness.
