the best song i can think of right now about friendship is "wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Middler...but that might be a little extreme for two friends getting to know eachother.
What about famous theme songs from sitcoms like Cheers and Friends? They are all about friendships...

there was a song called friends by elton john back in the late 60s or early 70s that was pretty cool. if you can find it , give it a listen, it kinda says it all.
