Yes they do but there are several limitations to it. I work for a resort in Florida who gets several Canadian visitors in the winter time and they can only be out of the country for a limited period of time or they will lose their health coverage. It is also very limited to what it will cover in the U.S.

Yes, Canada does have free medical care for its citizens. There are some complaints about long waits for some procedures, but in an emergency, the system kicks into high gear to handle critical cases. And it has been my experience that the waiting time has been minimal (like none!) for numerous diagnostic procedures that I've had, and the surgery that they indicated.
It is paid for, of course, from our taxes, but seems to be a bargain.
I'm a happy camper.

Yes, I live in Canada. A research that is done by Harvard university says that Canadian only have a slightly better health care than the Americans. Canadians usually have to wait for a long time for them to receive treatments. I'm from Taiwan and Taiwan has an extremely excellent health care plan (non-profit though).

Yes, but my friends from Canada say it's not that good...long waits to see a Dr and at least a 12 hour wait to be seen in the hospital

Yes...lucky for me..I have been going for the hospital for the last three days for an antibiotic Iv drip..I wouldn't want to imagine the cost had I had to pay for it..gasp...my wait was 1.5 hours and that was with the drip in me, that takes about half and hour, the rest of the time I eavesdroped and made stories in my head about who was worse off
