If you have alot of fleas in your house and need to get rid of them go to your local grocery store to the detergent section and get some 20 Mule Team Borax soap powder. You sprinkle it all over the carpet and let it set for a few days. The borax basically sucks the juice out of them and they die along with the eggs. This is a great non-toxic alternative to flea bombs or other dangerous chemicals. It will not harm your kids or animals. After a couple of days vacuum up the soap powder. It will leave a residual on your carpet that will keep on killing them!

If you were to view a flea thru a microscope you would notice that it is almost "flat". Yep, it's body is basically flat and has hard armored shells across it, making it a pretty sturdy little fellow. It has an extremely strong exoskeleton and is lightweight, so can survive very easily. In order to kill one you would have to use something sharp such as your fingernail and "cut" it in half, or use pesticides. It's basically made for that which it lives to do..... crawl thru lots and lots of fur without any problems at all. .........

There are two ways to kill fleas:

1. catch them and put them in a sealed container with water, they will drown after a while.

2. If the first way takes to long you can do this, get a lighter or other fire making tool and light it on the flea, this will catch it on fire and will kill it in a few seconds.

They must have exoskeletons like ants. Plus because they are flat it makes them harder to squish. I'm just guessing. You can kill them if you put them in hot soapy water!

My brother and his wife took their nasty dirty dog (in desperate need of a bath) into my mother and father's home and completely infested it with fleas... My parents are trying to get rid of them now. Let me know if you find out how to kill them!

LOL My vet actually showed me. Get/use your flea comb, when you get one, loose hair and all, drop it on a flat surface, with hair keeps them from jumping away so fast. Then, roll your fingernail over them, like a reverse finger-printing. They pop and are done, no more flea. Or you could get Revolution from your vet, kills fleas, eggs, ear mites, and internal worms.

Please, spay and neuter your pets!
