I used to do that and being a Leo too it took a lot to swallow my pride that I did not know where I was going. 1. In front of a girl and 2. admitting to the person you are asking that you are useless.
Once I started travelling around the world I realise it is the way forward. (Literally)
Guys don't like to admit they are wrong and like to act like (Don't worry baby, You are safe with me) As strange as it is, I think the answer to your question is guys are too proud and too stupid.

I haven't really come across this stereotype very much. Also, every time I've been at a grocery store or outside and have been asked for directions, it's been by a male.
But, assuming it does exist... it's probably because we're not smart enough to follow the directions anyway.

Pride, they feel that if they stop to ask for directions it makes them weak and like admitting that they don't know what they are doing or something. The same reason my husband can't breath and is coughing up a lung and will refuse to go to the doctor. He thinks it makes him weak.

Because we don't want to be dependent on others who may give incorrect directions as a joke or unintentionally. Some of us also use atlases and plan our routes to minimize the likelihood of being lost.
Another silly stereotype eliminated.....

you're able to favor to judge this - if a guy rolls down a window in a motor vehicle, it really is taken into consideration by skill of ability of a few to be a threatening gesture in some cities. Any guy asking a question in this kind has to first bypass the try of now not being considered:- > a street rager reason on bashing you or insulting you for figuring out to purchase interior of fifty ft of his motor vehicle > a plausible mad roadside killer Son of Sam > a mad guy to ask a stranger for help interior the first position > some style of pickup artist or pedophile kidnapper > a cop reason on busting you for looking sideways recognize-how dictates that, in a lot of aspects, you keep your residing domicile domicile windows up, and the doors locked. a lady, on the diverse hand, if she manages to steer sparkling of the try of being a plausible muggee or motor vehicle hijackee by skill of ability of rolling down her window - isn't considered a street rager, a plausible roadside killer Son of Sam, a mad guy or female addressing you over now not something, a pickup artist or pedophile kidnapper, a cop, or inspite of. None of it really is precisely actual - as reported a street rager female deliberately ran over and killed a children chum of my son about 2 years interior the previous collectively as he and friends were walking on the footpath. even if the reality maintains to be that individuals are a lot less likely to be particular a lady as any style of possibility, so therefore women people people are more suitable likely to ask for instructions from strangers. in this women people persons also ought to in all likelihood be somewhat naive. Welcome to the darkish fringe of being a guy, dahlin'!
