The wingless variety breed very quickly in warm climates too. They must be raised in sterile conditions to be used as food – someone should try them and post the results.

Actually, yes. However, there is a breed of WINGLESS fruit flies [some kinda Drosophila] that make excellent food. Mail order though....

I don't see why not. I myself fed cockroaches to fishes before. Roaches are high in protein. Crickets are the best choice as well.

most koi and goldfish do best on a 50-50 diet of protein and veggies/plants. So yes that would fall under the protein. :)

small-to-medium fish, yes!!
really large fish might ignore them, and the will be too large for some really tiny fish to handle
