We Gay and Lesbians... all of us...mainstream as well as sensational... are still not OUT enough.

We're not LOUD enough.

We're not PROUD enough.

Unfortunately, insanity still rules the minds of too many fundies and straights.

We've got more to do.

Please speak up, vote, write, blast, blog, or whatever as much as you can. Do it deliberately.

The poster above me is what happened, along with religion and human nature. Excuse the expression, but f*ck God's law, this country isn't ruled by God's law, because if it was, adulterer's and fornicators and murderers would pay a much higher price than they do. Divorce would be illegal as well. It always kills me how people are so quick to yell out "God" when the issue of homosexuality is brought up, but they are the ones divorced and re-married 2 and 3 times, having mistresses and lovers on the side, abusing their children, and disobeying every other law there is in the bible. But when you bring this up to them, automatically it's "That was in the old testament, when Jesus died, we live by the new testament." Jesus didn't say not a single word about homosexuality, so why do we have to live by the old laws and they get to live by the new ones?
I'm so outraged by nonsense like this, I can't even think straight sometimes.

And to the poster above me, waitintoinhale....yah, I bet you are, your head is so far up your bum that it's cutting off the circulation to your brain and you're inhaling you're own bs. Freedom has nothing to do with queers? Next time think about what you say before you open your mouth and stick your foot in it.

Uh, you have no freedoms to take. It was against the law to have gay sex in many states until the Supreme Court overturned all the sodomy laws in Lawrence v. Texas in 2003. Gays have never had the "right" to marry and the ability to adopt, while getting harder in backward states like Florida, is getting easier elsewhere. The "free" in "free country" is about having political freedoms that were unheard of when they were first instituted back in the 18th century. That freedom was never about being allowed to do your own thing, whenever and wherever you feel like doing it.

On a generational timeframe, the progress has been upward ... and that's because of the courageous people who have asserted their human rights and freedom rather than simply bowing to the will of bigots and know-nothings. Families are what families are ... ridiculous for the government to attempt to define them by constitutional amendments and such. Equal rights and equal protection under the law is a birthright in a free country.

I guess you are not old enough to remember when sodomy was against the law. Peoples home's were broken into in the middle of the night and men were taken to jail for sleeping in the same bed. There were also cases when men were arrested because they were caught in the bedroom having sex. We have come a long way, however we have a long way to go.

Well, people *are* idiots...they think America is a theocracy instead of a free country...'cause those crazy Christians and some of the Christian denominations make most of our government.
Well, like Bush said..."There ought to be limits to freedom," and "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a goddamn piece of paper!"

I don't know. I guess homosexuals are just second-class citizens because they are "sinners". I think it's disgusting that our country hasn't woken up to its own oppression. To think in this modern world that we still deny a whole population of our citizens some basic rights that all others get to enjoy because of sexual orientation. Wow, I just can't believe it either. I don't know what happened to our "free" country. Doesn't seem so free for everyone to live how they must.

politicians, both republican and democrat do not agree with our lifestyles because we are different than them and they can't stand the fact that we know more things in certain aspects than they do

and they try to put tougher laws on us because they feel threatened

We will have to fight to have our freedom and rights. I know many straight and glbtq people will fight together for the rights too.

"If gay people get equal rights then everybody will want them."
