Last year, Live 8 was a concert gearing up to the G8 summit it Scotland. It worked, the Presidents/Prime Ministers from the eight most industrious countries pledged to double and even triple aid to Africa. All though the G8 had their hearts in the right place, they have failed to take action and follow through with their promises (typical politicians).

Actually it was Live 8 not Live Aid. And I don't think they met their purpose. Everyone just watched them as a regular concert.
