If you had sufficient money could you buy your way into power? If this statement is true, do you really live in a democracy?

I am aware you still have to get the majority of votes, but with enough media coverage anything is possible.

BTW, this is not necessarily a question specifically about the US. I think to idea is valid for most western democracies.

you still live in a democracy. You just live in a democracy that is easily swayed by media. This is why its true in most western democracies. Its sad really. But people assume if its made it to TV then its a populous idea. People are too insecure or too lazy to find they're own opinion.

You can't become president without it. The rich rule the world and the world is corrupt. What does that say about the rich. Not all the rich mind you but the majority. They steal from the poor in not paying their taxes, insider trading, producing poor quality products, not having something done so everyone can have medical care and afford medicine. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer and it is not always work ethics that make this so. I think a person who wants to be president has an ego problem. Most people in high government (not all mind you) are corrupt money grabbers. This is just what I have observed, your observations may differ from mine but we all are entitled to our opinions.

To get into possition to run youv'e sold you soul to some cause. Then it becames a contest to see which party can outsmart the other. Now with electronic elections and choosing which people's votes won't count you can buy and election by having the right supreme court justices and the right people in the states running the voting. We've seen it happen the last two presidential elections.

It would be really tough to get elected without the money..It might be possible if the platform were right.

If you have NO real platform, your BS and smoke and mirrors it takes alot more money. Thats why most politicians have to spend so much, they have NO substance, just BS.

I guess it is true and it works!

If you can't dazzle them brilliance, baffle them with BS!
