Don't you think that we miss Arthur Miller's judgment at this moment in time in Israel's history? What would be his advice now I wonder? We are considering his The American Clock as our next production. Our director says it has a real resonance. I'm sitting up reading it and watching the TV news,

Those events that shaped Miller's opinion are more or less the same as events that shape thought today. Miller's grounded and objective observations brought clarity to a society that was not unlike our own. We have, and always will need minds such as his to point out the obvious to us; but as in his time we seldom learn from past mistakes, or heed warnings for the future. His advice now would no doubt be in the same vein, but equally disregarded. Were he here today, Im sure he would chuckle to himself and whisper to a disinterested public "I told you so"...
