The best answer is to refer to the owners manual. Changing oil yourself is a pretty simple task, I will warn you , some engines, the oil filter is not the easiest to get to, but you can do it.

either 5W20 or 5W30. The specifics should be in your owners manual. You did get one right, because it tells you when to do what in the line of service. If not, try and get hold of one or the Chilton book for your model. Oil changes are not difficult it's just how to dispose of the used oil. By the time you collect it safely and take it to a disposal site, you've spent more than the 19.95 or whatever at Jiffy Lube.

You should consult your owners manual. Also it may be labeled on your oil filler cap or on one of your underhood stickers.
An oil change on the eclipse in that year is rather difficult. The oil filter is fairly inaccessible unless you have the capabilities to lift it above your head when standing. I would recommend taking it to a professional for service.

is it a manual trans if so i would go with a high heat oil, a synthetic oil, or high rev oil. If an auto trans than just about any oil will do but you get what you pay for.

Timing belts do not knock. if youchronic it difficult or race it you need to favor to drop the oil pan and examine the significant bearings and connecting rod bearings. If a connecting rod or significant bearing is wiped out the engine receives worse and lose oil rigidity then fail thoroughly. I frequently order bearings beforehand I dis-carry at the same time to keep time. At 124K you need to not favor outsized bearings, yet you by no skill can tell till that is aside. in case you at the prompt are not a mechanic you need to favor to get a mechanics opinion, we can hear to feels like that and inform you. each sometimes for free.
