Yep it can. If you stand on it or touch it in the wrong place its stinger may get you.

No. Bees sting by intentionally attacking the victim. When they do this, the stinger gets stuck in the victim, and tears a hole in the bee, so the bee dies. So bees don't try to attack unless they need to. But once a bee is dead, the stinger is useless, because the stinger has no momentum to get it into your skin.
