I am considering waxing (rather than shaving) prior to my c-section to avoid the painful "hair growing in my incision 3 days after surgery" feeling.... I experienced that with my first child and it was miserable. Has anyone waxed prior to a c-section? Is there any reason why I shouldn't do it?

Not a bad idea, I know the feeling. I got an infection from an ingrown hair, and still have problems 2 years later. If you can stand the pain, and your Dr is ok with it - do it!

Make sure if you are going to wax before you do it about 2 1/2 weeks prior to the c-section because most hair takes about 6 weeks to start to grow out so you should be fine you still have 4 weeks or maybe closer to 5 weeks. You dont want to do it any closer to the date because you are starting to get a little bit tender down there. good luck

You would have a lot of hair to wax which could be extremely painful. I have had 3 c-sections and was shaved with all of mine. My incision is actually above my "hairline" so I never had any problem with hair growing in my incision. I would ask your doctor if there would be any problem with it.

i had a c section.. i didnt experience any hair growing back for a while after it was healed.. actually.. to this day it still hardly grows there..... i dunno.. mayby just different bodies.. but i dont see why it would make a difference if you waxed. would it affect the surgery? i have never waxed... only shaved.

sorry but i have another question to add to yours, i thought a c-section was when they took the baby out of your womb, what does shaving have to do with that? i'm now confused.

Check with your doctor, but I think it should be fine. Wish I had thought of that!
