Guys usually give their machines female names, because just like most women, they're undependable. Just when you think you've got it/them just the way you like them to be, they break down or quit on you.

For the life of me, I do not know. Girls don't really do that do they? Although I guess I was flattered to have a guitar named after me by a boyfriend (I was 18-19, of course I was flattered).
It's kind of sweet. But definitely weird. They all do it too.

Because some guys are more comfortable with machines than people. And by naming it, the affection they feel for it seems more justified and normal.

A little personallty to a mundane object. But from my experences girls name their cars more than boys do.
