Guinea pig because ferrets are usually a pain until they are two years old. GP's stay put. ferrets tear up stuff, get into stuff. I rather have a Guinea pig but Ferrets are far more playful and more destructive. Unless you have them descented the ferret smells.

I have both, and I do like the ferret better than the guinea pig. I hear stories about how everyone loves their guinea pigs, and they are so playful and calm and so on and so forth, but mine is just a mean old biddy. She runs away and bites. The vet says that she's as healthy as can be, although she's a little overweight.
Now my ferret( ferrets, I just bought another) are sociable and love to play, rarely biting me but eating my mother up.

Guinea Pig because they are cheaper, and easier to care for. They also don't need to be taken into the vet for shots and such. Plus they don't need to be bathed. I would rather get a guinea pig for 20$ then a ferret for 125$. Plus the cage can be smalled for a gunea pig then a ferret. So over all pick the guinea pig.

Oh, a ferret definitely! I've had two ferrets and one guinea pig, and the ferrets were a lot more fun. Also they can be toilet trained whereas guinea pigs cannot. I love both my ferrets, they walked on little leashes, rode around on my shoulder, played with squeaky toys and toilet paper rolls, and loved to tunnel in snow. The guinea pig? He walked around inside the house leaving a little trail of guinea pig nuggets on the carpet, and slept a lot. Viva los Ferrets!

Guinea pigs are less smelly but don't interat with you as much as ferrets do but ferrets have a distinct odor you have to be willing to live with. Ferrets are fun to own though.
