I deciphered this pattern by looking at a photo of a one-piece hexagon afghan for someone else. You might give it a try if you can't find another pattern. I'm giving instruction for the first 13 rows. It just repeats and you should be able to figure it out:

Chain 6, slip stitch to form a ring.

Row 1: chain 3, 17 dc in ring, sl st to top of ch 3.

Row 2: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next dc, *2 dc in each of next 2 dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around. Sl st in top of ch 3.

Row 3: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3 (dropping your present color and picking up next color with sl st).

Row 4: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, dc in next dc, long dc in next 2 dc BELOW ch 2 sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, long dc in next 2 dc BELOW ch 2 sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3.

Row 5: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3.

Row 6: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, dc in next 3 dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3 (dropping your present color and picking up next color with sl st).

Row 7: ch 3, dc in base of ch 3, dc in next 4 dc, long dc in next 2 dc BELOW ch 2 sp, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2, *2 dc in next dc, dc in next 4 dc, long dc in next 2 dc BELOW ch 2 sp, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 2. Repeat from * around, sl st in top of ch 3.

There's a great new book out called "Knitting Nature" by Norah Gaughan. Below is a picture of a knitted hexagon pattern from the book. There's also a knit a long (see link below). I've had success with making hexagons using a short row method (see my fortune cookie pattern link). Adjust the number of cast on stitches to make the wedges larger or smaller. Best of luck!

Happy Knitting!

A hexagon is just a six sided object. Pick the length you want on each side. make that your base and then increase each row until you have the same length on the slope you have just created. Decrease until you are at the original number of stitches. A simple knit pearl pattern should do. If you can follow this and it works then credit my deceased wife the knitter - she must have succeeded in teaching me something.

I just saw Kevin S's full answer. It looks excellent except that the abbreviations look to be for crochet. This will work just as well as knitting unless you are a knitter only. I'm a crocheter. Try translating Kevin's pattern into my knitting idea. Good Luck.
