My 1987 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets about 22 mpg on the average. I do alot of driving in town and very little on the freeway. It has the 4.0 liter straight 6. I always keep it maintained and dont run the over sized tires although it does have a 2" suspension lift. Plus I never try and push my foot into the pedal without absolutely needing to. Gas prices here are about $3.25 a gallon and that is great incentive not to.

A good rule of thumb for any car is to take the sticker number and cut it in half because the way they get those numbers is that basically the just put the car on a big treadmill and let it go. Theres no compensation for hills, rough roads, lane changes, start and stop traffic, passengers, quick acceleration, etc. etc. anyway nobody can answer this question cause you didnt give us a year or engine size

My 2000 Cherokee Sport gives 14 city, 19.5 Highway. That is with the Select-Trac transfer case in 2 WD. I have the fuel injected 4.0 litre inline six. Kick it into full time 4 WD and it really drops, but it'll go ANYWHERE!!!

Well, there are a few ??'s to ask. What size motor you have, and if you have 4x4, and also if you got a lift kit, and such. And if your running larger tires. Avg maybe 15-25 mpg, depends on all the earlier listed.
