My boyfriend had to have a pre employment physical for an offshore drilling job. Basically, it was just like any other physical: A brief check of body systems and an interview of past medical problems.
They seemed really concerned with any medical problems that might crop up while working on the oil rig. If you have any severe medical problems out there, their only option is to fly out out on a helicopter, and that can be really expensive. They also did a drug test. If you have any past medical history, you might have to get a copy of your old records so they can review it.
