OK, I have been exercising for 19 years. I have tried a LOT of different exercises and a LOT of different machines. The ONLY exercise that really works is one that NO ONE wants to hear!
1. You have to exercise every day.
2. You have to LIFT SOMETHING HEAVY.
I did not say 5 pound hand weights, walking around the neighborhood, ankle weights, etc. etc. I SAID - "something heavy!"
And that is where people stop listening. No one wants to lift something heavy.
If you do; do this; get a couple of 5 gallon pails with lids. Put some water in each. Pick them up. Stand and HOLD them for 1 minute. Elbows bent, knees bent, bent over. Do this every day. Once a week, add more water. Takes about 2 minutes total.
The heavier they get, the more weight you will loose.

I've never had to "lose" weight but the way i stay in shape is to dance. put on some bumping music and move away. even if you only bend your knees and swat a little you will be amazed at what it can do for you. just take it easy the first few times. if you try to dance a lot and for a long time then you will be really sore the next day. another thing you can do is to get up during commercial breaks when watching TV. stand up and do a few jumping jack or a few crunches. any little thing will help. if you really want something that will make your muscles burn then turn on music and start kicking and punch like crazy. as if you knew karate or something. do that for a half hour and you will REALLY feel it the next day. whatever you do mix it up. if you try to stick to work out videos or the same routine then you will more than likely get bored with it and stop doing it eventually. and that doesn't help with weight lose. also don't forget to watch what you eat. that has a lot to do with how much weight you lose or gain.

As someone mentioned before, you can use exercise tapes. if you have comcast On demand you can go to their fitness programs that are on demand. that will save you time and money(since you would already be paying for it in your cable bill, if you have comcast on demand that is). I am trying to lose weight too but I go to the gym and my membership will be up soon. i discovered the on demand thing and tried two of the exercises which run for an average of 15 minutes and I could't believe the workout i got from it. If you don't have that then just invest in two good exercise videos and remeber to change things up a little every now and then so you don't get bored and your body will thank you for it. Good luck.

Walking is the best exercise, so I've heard. Drink plenty of water and walk in place while watching Dr. Freaking Phil. Sounds like a load of crap. My mom went on the Green Tea diet.. walking in place in our living room and lost 138 pounds. Gooooood lucky wucky!!
