I have E-trade and want to do a trade.. Pretty much I want to sell what is in portfolio B which is a certain stock when it hits a certain price.

Now there is a fee.. Will this fee be charged even if the sale is not executed? Like if the stock never hits that price.

In ETRADE, they charge the fees (~20$ fixed) only when the transaction is executed.
Don't worry about non-executed or cancelled orders. You can do as many as you want for free.

No- usually the commission is only charged if the order is executed, not for placing the order.

no fee if no trade just for placing order. may incur fee for inactivity if sole activity is investing account and nothing else (like a money market account).

I don't know about etrade, but at my scottrade account, trades that don't go through are not charged. I only pay for what goes through. Good luck.

You are never charged for unexecuted trades.
So this means, you would be charged only when your trade or order is executed.
