You've heard the phrase, "Biting the hand that feeds you"...? Well, that's what happens when you don't have to struggle, work, or fight for anything.

I'm not so old myself, but I've spent 4 years active service Army, 4 years National Guard, and now I have a college degree, a good paying job, and a deep respect for our nation. I work with a number of younger men, and I honestly think there are two basic problems. 1) Most kids grow up with both parents working, obsected with thier jobs, and not paying any attention to thier kids. These kids then grow up hanging out at the Wawa, smoking cigarettes, and pretending they're tough. They don't know anything, they haven't done anything, their parents don't teach them morals or civility, and schools are more like glorified daycare then educational institutions. 2) What they do learn is either from highschool, college, or from the media, all of which are liberally biased. College is pretty much a liberal training ground. The left these days, the left doesn't have anything to say these days except that they hate GW, they hate the GOP, and they are ashamed of where the US is going. It's what they're fed, and what they know. It's unfortunate, but it's true. The one saving grace is that a good paying job that someone has to work for really does tend to open many people's eyes towards what actually going on.

As to the other answers you got that spoke ill of the US, well grow up, live, work, and achieve in the US and then formulate an opinion. If you rely soley on what you read in the media, you will naturally form a displaced, onesided opinion. This is the land of oportunity. I grew up poor, worked hard, and now am doing really well. I'm nothing special, and my country has provided me the environment to do this in, and has every right to protect its national interests and its citizens.

If you include non-Americans this is why we hate you:

America is mostly a country of the unbelievably stupid, naive and ignorant.

However, it has become rich and powerful because of a land rich in natural resources (taken with much bloodshed from the natives) and because of a small minority of brilliant scientists and intellectuals who are held in contempt by the majority who take advantage of their achievements

America has been so provably wrong on so many issues it is absurd and they are too stupid to see it.

1. They now talk about solving the problems of the Middle East after voting in a president who initially said the rest of the world didn't matter to Americans (and wanted to pull out of the Palestinian/Israeli peace process- the Palestinian situation being a prime recruiting sergeant for terrorists)

2. They ignored the rest of the world who warned that they should take stock and plan before invading Iraq (and many of these supported eventual military action.

3. They said they don't believe in Global Warming (the fact that they would ignore their own Academy of Science shows how anti-intellectual they are).

Of course many want to become American-its like the kid at school who toadies to the school bully hoping for protection

Yes! this generation is too spoiled! They never really had to work for anything-everything was always given to them. They have always lived in a world where you had a remote to turn the tv on and off-not knowing how to get up and down to change the channels, always had everything to keep them busy-such as video games etc..not knowing the phrase-go out and play-use your mind etc...
Things have changed with the kids over the years-they dont know how to respect adults(some do but the majority doesnt)-they can get away with just about everything.
The majority has never lived in a country that has nothing so,they dont know what its like..spoiled!!!
The US is a wonderful country and everyone should appreciate all that we have here!

Please note-I am not saying that all kids are like that, and I am not saying that all hate the us but, thats all you hear is complaints and this one suing over this... I think its all ages, not just the young.

You wrote HATE the United States, I do not see any long lines of people trying to leave here, do you? Seems to me, there are a loot of folks out there trying to get in.

We do have an over abundance of greedy, selfish, people here. Too, we have a lot of people that want everything but do not want to contribute anything.

Do you hate the US? Are you an American? If you are not an American, then why are you concerned? What is it like in your country?

If you are an American, are you on your way out the door? If not, why not? And what has been your contribution to the issues here?

It's because schools can't teach anything except evolution and the UN agenda of a one world government. Also, the National Teachers Union is heavily composed of tree hugging hippies who profess love even when thousands of our innocent US citizens get murdered. They have no spines. They were the draft dodging pu**ies of Vietnam. Our youth are being brainwashed.

Its not just young people, I'm 59 and you'd put me in that category. However, it is not a matter of hating the US so much as its leaders..voting for movie stars, cow boys and now a moran drunken frat boy does not make me proud!
