I do Archery, how come poeple think it isnt a sport and i cant go to the olympics as an Archer?
Instead they tell me to do something more common.
What do u think, is it a sport? Can i go to the olypics as an archer.

archery is a sport... didn't the barcelona olympics started with someone shooting an arrow to lit up the olympic flames? it takes skill to shoot an arrow 20 meters away to that dot on a target with the wind as either guiding the arrow or against it... most people believe that strength and physical skills are far better than lesser sports because it is athletic in nature... look at golf, it's no different to archery, shooting at a target far away.... yet they continuously chase the ball and walk the distance just so to put it in a hole. tell your friends this, GEENA DAVIS (an american actress, an oscar awardee, and a mensa member) was once a team member of the American team in archery at the olympics.. perhaps then, you'd be inspired to compete...

i am pretty sure you can go to the Olympics as an archer! Good luck! and also i do archery at camp it the best SPORT ever!

of course you can.
and i think you should because not many do archery, so the chances of you making it on the U.S. team is bigger. If you do a common sport, such as swimming or track, who knows how many people you'll have to compete with just to get on the team. Get what im sayin?

i thought they did do this in the olympics, i mean if you watched the games on channel 4 the girls had do it as a sport, i no for sure that it is in the common wealth games

archery is fun, i love doing it!!! it is a sport and people should respect that....i bet there is an olympic team for it, but i cant find it, sorry

I dont see why it would not be a olympic sport.
they have shooting of all kinds. So why not.
