I asked this earlier but none of the answers helped.

Internet Options-- Security-- Restricted Sites-- Default level. Why can I not change it from high to anything else? Everytime I try I get an error message saying I can't go beyond the recommanded leve of High. I believe that the Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 is responsible. I am using the computer administrator account. Please tell me there is a way to change it. It's very annoying. Also is there a way to stop the annoying pop-ups that say Current Site---- Trusted Site-------?

Ok using the slider or the default level button won't do anything for you here. What you need to do instead is click the 'Custom Level...' button. At the bottom of the window that opens you can select a new level, High, Medium, Medium low...etc etc. Choose the level you want and then click 'Reset'. You'll get a yes/no popup asking if you're sure so click 'Yes'. Now click 'Ok' 'Apply' and 'Ok' again. Keep in mind that if you go back to here at a later date the selector will NOT be set to your actual security level. For the restricted zone it will say high but your actual settings will still be whatever you set them to earlier. If you don't believe me just click 'Reset' and you'll see the setting change on at least the first 2 items.

The following link is an in-depth explanation of the SP2 pop-up blocker that might help you with your other problem:

Just turn on the pop up blocker in IE6 instead of trying to get your security settings so high you can't use the web.

I cant change it either. I think for XP, its the default because you can either set it to restrict sites or allow them access.

Its the only option Internet Explorer users have.
