what cures puss pockets caused by severe sinus infection accompanied by toothache and swelling of gums & face?

my 16 year old daughter has a severe sinus infection that is causing swelling in her face (esp. eyes&nose) and her gums which is also causing extreme pain to her teeth. so far nothing is helping. Any advice or maybe home remedies, or what to tell the doctor to test her for? we are desperate!

What have you tried so far? Have you taken her to see a doctor yet??? The doctor doesn't need to "test" for anything, just tell your doctor she has a severe sinus infection! If her face is swollen like you dewscribe, a doctor will know what to do. She needs medical care ASAP, this is NOT a time for home remedies! Her face is swelling up, and swelling in both the mouth and nose means her throat and air passage could be next! Take her to an emergency room! She needed to be on an antibiotics last week!

I totally agree with all answers prior to mine. Please take you daughter to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor who specializes in those area's.

If you have indeed been to a doctor, was your daughter diagnosed with a sinus infection? Were a series of anti-bots prescribed? Did your daughter take ALL of the anti-bots? Did you have a follow-up appointment with the treating physician?

If you are 'self-diagnosing' this can be very dangerous in the head area. If bacteria is present in the sinus's then go the path of the Ear Nose and Throat doctor. If she is experiencing swollen gums and tooth pain she may also have a bacterial infection in her teeth or jaw.

Puss is caused by a bacterial infection. You did not indicate where the 'puss pockets' were located, I shall assume the gum line.

With any untreated bacterial infection with special emphasis on the 'head region' you risk sepsis which if left alone and not treated aggressively by major anti-bots you can die from it.

GET YOUR DAUGHTER TO A MEDICAL DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY. Don't come to Yahoo Answers to ask a question such as this. Have the self-worth and love for your daughter to take her to a doctor immediately rather than wait for a 'good answer' to your question while your daughter suffers.

I use Eucalyptus essential oil; only a few drops mixed with a carrier oil such as almond oil . It's Ok to put it in your forehead too, but I lie down first and tilt my head back so it doesn't run into my eyes. (You do not want that) I also use a neti pot which I think ol geaser mentioned. This can be used as a preventive. I use it at least 3x a wk. Don't let it go too long, you may need an antibiotic, especially if you get chest congestion or an earache. Bronchitis and pneumonia can be serious at our age. (you can also put the above mixture on your chest. I cut up old flannel PJ's into squares and heat them up in the dryer and apply after the oil. I think Mentholatum may contain eucalyptus oil but the concentration is lower. Make sure you wash your hands well after handling any essential oil. You can also put a few drops on a cotton ball and put in a container near your head at night (helps you breath) Many hospitals have free or inexpensive classes on the use of essential oils. Remember, they are potent. Must be kept out of the reach of children or pets.

EENT doctor with big time antibiotics.

Once they get the infection under control they can do sinus sugery to open the passages for better drainage.

It could be polyps blocking the way and they can be removed.

The surgery really sucks, I went through it. I was on percocet for three weeks because the pain was that bad.

BUT it was sooooo worth it afterwards!!!

Everyone has a sinus on each side of their nose called the maxillary sinus. Wherein, the roots of the upper back teeth go into the right and left maxillary sinuses. Take hot showers and breathe in the hot spray to moisten your nose. Finally, fill up your tub and just let the water evaporate so that the air will stay moist. Lots of sinus problems happen when the heating or cooling systems dry out the air because this dries out your nose.

Caring for your nose and your teeth is the most helpful thing to do in order to prevent at least the effect and occurrence of a sinus infection. So if you are afraid to encounter such terrible sickness…love your whole body that is the least thing to do!

No home remedies are going to work at this point - she needs antibiotics. A doctor will pick this off right away by tapping on her face and head around the sinus cavity areas.

My husband has had this since friday...Sept 19th, 2014 and he IMMEDIATELY went to DOC!!!! They gave him zepak but did not work due to his infection was SEVERE and sooo he again went back to doc due to major swelling (had not went down since he went the first time) and this time they gave him penacillain and today a pain reliever and told him to use cold compress and he goes back tomorrow and as of today swelling NOT what it was on day 1 but is still swollen bad!!!! Praying goes down soon!!!! Sooo worried!!!! BY ALL MEANS MAAM.....TAKE HER NOW!!!!! THe doc said it can go to eyes and then BRAIN and then.......welll ya know!!!!! GOD BE WITH HER and YOU!!!
