Chanting "Bloody Mary!" thirteen times in front of a candlelit mirror will summon a vengeful spirit.

If you go into the bathroom and look into the mirror with the lights off and the room completely black, and then say 'Bloody Mary' thirteen times, a woman will appear and scratch your face up/off.

I was told that if you said "Hell Mary" seven times in front of a mirror in a dark room, you would see Satan's image in the mirror. The story was embellished further by the teller, who claimed that after three "Hell Mary", the mirror turned red, and that after five an unclear face appeared.

Here's how I always heard the story. You go into a room with a mirror and turn all the lights off (this works well in a bathroom). You begin, in a whisper, to chant "bloody mary. bloody mary, Bloody Mary", as you continue to chant your voice should grow louder and louder into a near scream. While you are chanting you should be spinning around at a medium rate and taking a glimpse in the mirror at each pass. Near the 13th repetition of the words . . . "she" should appear and...?

A friend of mine said that her roommate tried this and ran out screaming from the bathroom. She was shaking and appeared genuinely terrified and refused to talk about the incident, but those who were around her when she came out noticed that her clenched fingers were covered in blood.

I was always too chicken to do it. We said it 3 or 5 times, though. My sister and some friends did it in a school bathroom once in Elementary school and she still swears they saw a woman and ran out. This was over a decade ago, so it doesn't matter anymore, so I don't think she's making it up. The movie Candyman took the concpet from Bloody Mary which is some decades older.

its a load of bull. Bloody MAry was the nickname given to Queen Mary of England during the 1500's. She was called bloody mary because she started a war between the catholics and protestants

I answered a question like this a while back, and its like i said nothing will happen if you do nor believe in it. The way they present it in the movies (urban legends in general) they make it look like anyone can do it. Its not all that simple, you need to believe it to see it. its very complicated. but i do not suggest you try it. cuz if yo do think about it logically, you are calling up a spirit, a very pissed off spirit, if she does appear, what do you think will happen, one little mistake or something goes wrong she will be loose. trust me, weather it works or not, i do not think you really want to see what she can do. people should really learn to respect the dead...

It's only a game. The only "bloody Mary" that I know of is Mary I. This Tudor Queen sent many to their deaths, because they where of the protestant religion.

When I was in 2nd grade, my friend talked me into doing it because I was board and had nothing to do while waiting for her mom to cook us dinner...
anyways, I never did and still don't really believe in that kind of stuff...
maybe that's why it DIDN'T WORK LOL.

I did it, and nothing happened... it was stupid...
but I had nothing better to do so whatever...
that was a while ago.

I saw that COOL episode on Supernatural about Bloody Mary, that episode WAS SOoooooooo COOL!
I like that show...
:)
The brothers kick but!

I"ve asked Bloody Mary to come many times, but she never shows. Did you know you can also call her by her full name, Mary Wells?

I did it when I was little the dim or dark light makes your eyes play tricks on you and you end up with a distorted image of your own face. Some on this feed may poke fun but to a 10 year old it can really scare you.

Well, bloody mary is only supposed to come when it's midnight and all windows, doors, blinds, etc. are closed. I've tried it a couple of times...but I don't think I've ever seen her...if I have, then she must be me!
