I don't want to go through the blah blah of the hardships in this small space, but have some advice based on them; Don't go for the fixer-upers! If you think something needs to be changed, for example, they are a player, drug user, too needy, drinker, controling, etc., leave them alone! They don't change, resent you trying to do so, and you just waste time and emotion. Find someone that is a good guy on his own. Best advise I can think of.

Don't let men bring you down. Don't let them pressure you to do things you don't want to do.
If a guy says that they are not looking for a relationship right now take that as a red flag that they have absolutely no intentions of being committed to you and so unless you're looking for a fling, it's best to get out early vs to stick around and waste time getting deeply involved.
