I would want to live in bronze or iron age Norway or Denmark. Back then you had to actually work for a living and any warfare was about things that mattered such as basic resources like food or land not stupid things like religion or oil. If not that time period then I would want to live in the Roman Empire as a Plebian. That way I could sit around all day and do nothing but enjoy myself by watching gladiators kill each other for my amusement and hit rich Patricians up for money since they felt it was their moral duty to give money away. Plus in the afternoon I could go to the Public Baths (which by the way were only open to Roman citizens) for a nice refreshing bath and massage as well as casual sex with a fellow Plebian (male or female they did both). Plus people were more relaxed about sexual orientation and nobody judged you for being gay.

This is a very tough call but my first choice would be the Holy Land during the first century.
The reason is quite obvious, so much of our thinking in the Western Hemisphere is based upon a historical figure who theologians and Bible scholars believed lived in that time and place that I would have to find out for myself just for my own piece of mind everything I pos-
sibly could about Him observing firsthand. The
Bible teaches, "blessed are those whom have not seen and yet believe (John 20:29)," but I would love to one day be in a position where I could observe first hand an event shaping the
course of history (such as communication with
space aliens), then choose to base my belief about someone/thing being for real and what, if
any, message this person/thing had to relay to the rest of humanity after I made my observation.

London england, in the Rencenasse period. I love hearing about the mid evil times, the costumes, the knights, etc!
But if I couldn't go back to that then the 1950's in Californa
fast cars, poodle skirts, saddle shoes, Just the fashions were worth wanting to go back for!

Being a history buff, that's really hard for me to answer because I like almost all time periods but I'm partial to Modern Europe between the Enlightenement and the Cold War.

I'd say Edwardian England (1895-1910). All the mod cons (like indoor plumbing and gas lights) with none of the inconveniences (like a truly wretched peasant class or industrial scale warfare).

I'd go back and fight Socrates in ancient Greece.
He'd get a pike rammed into his abdomen, then I'd turn him like a piece of meat in the air and plant the pole in the ground, while all that delicious gore dripped from his agonized entrails.

I would travel to mid-18th century Schonbrunn, to advise Maria Theresa to keep Marie Antoinette home so she doesn't get into trouble. Who knows how history would have unfolded if we could go back in time? Interesting idea, except what happens if you accidentally cause the death of your mother's or father's ancestors?
