My friend says he trusts me, and when I talk to him it seems like he does. But then I find out all this stuff about him through our other mutual friend that he didn't tell me. He tells me all kinds of stuff, but certain things he'll only tell our other friend. It's not like we aren't on the subject so he just forgot. The other day we were talking about this girl and he said she was annoying, then the day after that I heard from our other friend that he said he liked the same girl he just said was annoying! What is going on? He is a pretty honest person, why doesn't he just say he doesn't trust me? Or is it not a trust thing at all??

If he is telling you the opposite then he doesn't want you to know the real truth about this girl. He doesn't want you to have anything to do with her. He is pushing you away from her just so he can talk to her or be with her without you ever thinking of it. All he know what you are going to think that "he can't be with her because he told me he didn't like her." Well, guess what? He just gave you a detour to look in another direction if you're looking for him. I know cause I have a so called friend is who I don't want to have anything to do with my best friend and I tell her the opposite or I just don't include her in anything except for yes, no kind of answer. So, follow your instinct next time and keep your EYES open at all time.

Maybe you should start questioning the mutual friend.
