The great problem, presumably being 'how to have a great life?' ;-)
Define 'great'. Please be more specific about what you mean by life's greatest problems.
I have what I consider to be a great life. I do work that I love. I own my own home. My children are grown and work and go to school. We are all healthy and happy. We are not rich by any stretch, but we do enjoy life every day. We are not religious.
I don't think I have solved any of life's great problems, like how to end war. or how can we all live together in peace, etc.

No, why on earth would one spend time and effort thinking that they should not be having a great life until they had solved on of lifes greatest problems. People should just get on with life and allow themselves to be happy and therefore a great life will follow.

It depends on what this problem you speak of is. You can call anything a problem. In order to live a great life you need to solve the problem of eating everyday first, or drinking everyday, or not getting killed if you live in a war zone, or being born with a bad heart. Not to mention what is the definition of a great life?

So are you saying to have a great life, you first have to have a major problem, and get through it....solve it? Because that doesnt sound all that great to me......So I dont agree.
I think someone who truly has a great life is oblivious to lifes many problems.....They would have to be completely innocent. So pretty much the only ppl who are truly happy are babies, and they get older and have a screwe up life, just like everyone else. So in summary no one is perfect, and no one has a perfect, or great, life.

Yes - I think this quote may be true... In order to have a great life, you must solve one of YOUR greatest problems. This will differ from person to person - For someone, this may mean finding true love... for another, finding happiness. At least this is what I interpret this quote as. :)

It went too fast and was sort of hard to follow. I think when you switch from one person to another it complicated things. Your idea was great. It sends a message that we need to do something about the environment. After a little revision it will make an incredible story. For now I give it a six.

in order to have a great life you must accept that this life is your only life. you must live for this life her on earth and not focus on an assumed "afterlife" If there is an after life then it is god created therefore he will give you instructions when you get to that point if in fact it does exist.

No. While you bellyache over life's greatest problems, life goes by and little problems pile up.
