While I don't personally like the Dixie Chicks style of music, or really any country music, I think they should be played. They got taken off for speaking up. It's called freedom of speech first off. Second, how many other bands do we know of that have spoken up with nothing happening to them? Kanye West, Green Day, and several more.

The Dixie Jerks effectively cut their own throats when whatshername (the short, fat one) dissed the President during wartime. Didn't she realise that country fans are overwhelmingly right-wing?

So should a country station be ALLOWED to play the Dixie Jerks? Absolutely--basic First Amendment freedom. But SHOULD they play them? Not if they care about their own ratings! They can play whatever they want within FCC regulations, so if they want, they can play an accordian polka marathon, the Best of Madonna, a collection of vintage advertizing jingles, etc.

It just wouldn't be a good idea.

Why not? Because they have an Opinion? Better than the rest of those B.S. fake Red state wannabes. Most people support this crap in order to sell music. This is businesss, the music busines. I congratulate them for having the courage to step and have a voice for the people who can not speak their minds in a national forum.

One of the rights that are to be enjoyed by citizens of this country is freedom of speech and expression. Yes, their music should be played...only if the radio companies want to....if they don't want to then i guess they are not living in a free land.

i understand the radio stations the place I`m from to right away do no longer play their song. in case you want to hearken to their song the two sisters (minus Natalie) have shaped a sparkling duo called 'courtroom backyard Hounds'

Yes, because their music has nothing to do with Natalie Mains political ideology, unless she says it in her songs. I'm a Republican, but I still think their music is great. Since when can Americans not say what is on their mind. It's better than flag burning.

i think so, they are a good group that actually play instruments and write their own songs. i dont think the problem is radio airplay they have had to cancel concert dates because the venues are not selling. if i were them i would do like faith hill and keith urban and go mainstream.
