what is the difference between 720p and 1081i?

Which one is better is you had the choice to run something in either one?

I think 720p is the best cause it is in progressive mode. 1080i is only good with big screens.

720p is the standard resolution for hd signals, 1080i is something tv sets can do to make the picture look a little crisper on larger tv screens 1080p is the ultimate resolution for hd, however most networks do not broadcast in 1080p yet
