I just find more liberals seem to be on the anti-Israel side. But Israel is mostly liberal. Is this just a coincidence?

cantcu, name them. Every single conservative radio talk show I listened to was pro-israel. Every single conservative leaning website was pro-israel
Radio personalities: Spencer Hughes, John Gibson, Todd Schnit, Bill O' Rielly, etc...

Then I listend to some liberal radio and they were anti-israel.

g, I am an atheist and I seriously doubt jews are chosen by god. But the christians think they are chosen too.
In revelations christians are referred to "israel".

I don't know if this is all a religious thing. It has to do with these israelis being viciously attacked.

The Liberals hate anything that has to do with war. They think if a country is attacked they should make peace/love instead of war.

Kind of funny that liberals think leftist terrorists are freedom fighters if they are fighting a right wing government in another country.

I consider myself a progressive, but I guess I would quallify as a "liberal" for the sake of this discussion. I don't hate anyone.

I don't hate Israel or Israelis, but I don't like the way the Israeli government or the US government is acting right now.

The Bush administration does not represent me and I'm sure that there are plenty of people in Israel who feel the same way about the Israeli government.

Unlike conservatives, Liberals tend to think for themselves and weigh out every action before rushing to judgement. That's why we don't fit well in categories, because we are individuals. Why can the Dems not get their **** together? Because we are not a bunch of brainless Zombie Robots following the oil king, we all have different perspectives on a lot of things.

Liberals are more extreme than conservatives in their stance on altruism (pro-sacrifice). To veer from that [anti-]morality is to draw condemnation. While W has been semi-ok, Rice was generally terrible in her opening remarks on FNC today.

Good to see that somebody out here seems to be supportive of Israel.

Yes it is just a coincidence. I really think that if Kerry, God forbid, were in the White House, the libs would be supporting Israel.

... well... it all has to do with "why do conservatives like Israel?"

the answer... it tells you to like them in the Bible... they are the "Lord's people"...

more conservatives are religious than liberals... on the whole

and conservatives believe in much more or a "literal take" on the Bible in general than religious liberals do...

so, it has nothing to do with "what Israel is doing"... but only "the Bible tells me too"...

there you go... question answered...

and I don't know any liberals or conservatives that "hate" Israel... unless they are from the middle east, or their parents were from the middle east... just because you don't agree... it doesn't mean you hate them...

i don't think hatred of israel is a liberal or conservative issue, because there are plenty of vastly different reasons people "hate israel". oddly enough, both sides of the political spectrum often share the same ones.

Israel, like the US, represents civilization and Western values. What modern "liberals" really hate is Western civilization.
