I think that anonymity has a lot to do with it. In real life, there are plenty of people we'd like to tell off, but we of course restrict ourselves from doing so because we know that a) it's not polite and b) we'd face consequences. Although being rude online certainly isn't polite, you don't really face any consequences. I think that's why a lot of people are rude online.

I think they spout off hateful things because they lack the courage to tell those in real life that might deserve it. They must have some serious issues with self esteem if they are willing to put someone down just to get a laugh out of someone for what, a few minutes? I think they lack life skills and have nothing to contribute but mindless drivel.

I agree with you. This is a great question. I f someone is going to be rude I wish they wouldn't even answer my questions. I wish we had the power to take points away from someone for being rude.

Because it's the internet, and some people have such petty minds that they get off on being able to write horrid **** completely anonymously with no possibility of retribution.
They're the types of people who killed toads and kittens when they were children.
Well, some were, anyway.

Some people are rude because they only care about themselves and they no nothing beyond their world or they think they know everything

They want you to participate in thier world of slights put downs and passive agressive b.s.
Simply dont participate. it ruins litte and keeps you happy.
