The haters say we're ignorant...I've seen more ignorance, rudeness, backstabbing, and malice from THEM than I've seen from fans! Not to mention their constant use of the slur 'Redneck', ignorant, know-nothing comments like 'all they do is turn left', atrocious spelling as well as awesomely bad grammar as well as outright rudeness, and juvenile behavior like personal attacks on fans...They think they're so cool, but all they do is make me laugh at how IGNORANT they are and how insignificant their comments are to me!

Isn't there a better way for them to get attention?

Absolutely. It's really disturbing and shocking that people will anonymously mock NASCAR racing. This whole "Yahoo Answers" site allows people to express their thoughts a little too easily...as they go father than is needed to make their point. And the whole idea of getting a "rise" out of people by saying ridiculous statements is also stupid...don't they have anything better to do with their time? People seem to especially enjoy arguing about NASCAR...some thinking it's a decent, interesting sport, and others thinking it is a lower class, pointless sport. I know that NASCAR is far from being a pointless and lower class sport...I don't even need to stress that to you because obviously you know all that. My opinion is that anyone can like anything, and other people just have to deal with it. We all are individuals, and people enjoy certain things and others don't. Don't those NASCAR haters realize that? It's stupid to annoy people who like something, even though their arguments are always simple and not worth paying attention to. The haters just enjoy being impertinent and aggravating. NOT all the NASCAR fans are rednecks, poor, uneducated, etc. In fact, certainly most of them aren't. The haters know all that, but just like getting under everybody's skin. And I'll tell you, there is nothing lower than fighting with people on a virtual question and answer website. How crazy are people? They need a life more than anybody! NASCAR fans who are on this site should just try to stay clear from the haters...they are nobody, literally.

And as far as spelling and grammar go, isn't it sweetly ironic that most of the haters can't write a descent sentence to save their lives? That tells us all something...hmmm.....lol.

Anyway, NASCAR forever!!!!!!!!

Most of the people bashing Nascar couldn't even afford to park, let alone GO to a race. If it's a redneck, uneducated sport, how do all the rednecks afford it? I took my 2 kids the Busch race at Chicago last Saturday and spent well over $300. To each his own I guess. I do agree that there's always the bad apples such as the people who throw things on the track. That is juvenile. However, when is the last time you heard about a driver trashing a hotel room or being accused of sexual assault? I'd rather watch them go left any day than watch guys run back and forth on a field or hit a ball over and over again. What other sport has 43 possible outcomes every time???? THAT'S EXCITEMENT!

First off, they DO make a thousand left turns. I'm sorry, but it's fact.

Second... I am not a Nascar fan. I don't particularly enjoy watching cars drive around in circles. However, I've got a LOT of friends who LOVE Nascar, and I couldn't ever imagine being mean to them just because they like it, and I don't believe that Nascar fans are uneducated. Nascar is just like any other sport. Next time someone decides to tell you you're uneducated because you're a fan, ask them if they feel smarter for pointing out a stereotype that's quickly fading into oblivion. :)

While I'm not necessarilly a NASCAR fan (I prefer open-wheel racing, sports-car racing and rallying), I never post derogatory messages/answers about it or the people who like that form of racing. The question/comment below was posted by `Your Master' and I'm not suggesting he's a NASCAR fan, but it seems he's either being provocative or he's a genuine F1 hater, one who paints all F1 fans with a very broad brush. Also, you will note that his writing skills leave a lot to be desired.
I suppose the point I'm making is you can expect derogatory messages/postings about every form of motor sports and generalizations about the people who like and follow them; it doesn't bother me and it really shouldn't bother you.
I would be interested in your personal comments.

Did you know F1 sucks?
im not gonna take my time writing out a whole page on why it sucks even though i could. plus the fans of F1 are always crabby stuck up rejects. but then again i dont want to write a whole page on the F1 fans either.

It is like "the lady doth protest too much" - when someone keeps showing their ignorance by putting down Nascar fans, maybe they need something to love as passionately as we do. Over the years we have met some of the nicest people at tracks, and do you know what? they actually know proper English, do not have foul mouths and are not rude. Not saying there aren't some of those around. They can't judge a book by it's cover.

Every year I go to the daytona500, the pepsi400, and the Homestead race down in homestead. First hand experience is that the majority of the fans are rednecks, so that remark isn't all that ignorant. And you can see all the rednecks when gordon wins b/c they are throwing trash out on the track.

Drive for Five Gordon.

There are people who hate NASCAR?? What?? Where?? They should just go back to Europe and all those wacko rally and formula 1 drivers! :P

I don't let them get under my skin. Everyone has their favorite sports. Some of us just prefer NASCAR. Call me a redneck! I don't care!! I can do more than just redneck stuff though,,, like... um,,,, well I know how to do Calculus level math at least! And I can type fairly well.. Hey! I have never owned a Camaro at least!..

I like NASCAR and I'm from Australia. I also like Champ Car ; IRL; Moto GP; V8 Supercars and Formula 1. The point I'm trying to make is that people can like whatever they want. Why waste time saying followers of a particular series are this or that? Just enjoy your racing!
Incidentally, V8 Supercars is our Touring Car series Down Under. Not sure if it gets much airplay in other countries.

I am a computer security professional that loves NASCAR. My day to day work is highly technical which requires sophisticated writing, not a stereotypical NASCAR fan.

Because of the size of the fan base of NASCAR, it has people of all backgrounds and occupations enjoying this awesome sport.

So people that say negative things about NASCAR fans are showing their own ignorance of the facts. It is a condition of their own ignorance, not of NASCAR fans.

This is my opinion.. whether it matters or not is up to you...
If someone doesn't like NASCAR they should keep their big mouths shut! It's a free country and I don't say rotten crap to you. I am damn proud to be a redneck girl from MI so if youre a redneck girl like me who loves NASCAR give a hell yeah!
The problem with people is they want everyone to think just like they do which is pathetic and boring. If you don't think just like them than they feel like they are different so they have to say mean stuff to get your attention.
Some people are just ignorant, lets face it!
