Well, we have a war monger president that sent our soldiers over there for no good reason, as there were NO WMD's and left our soliders over too long, and not adequately protected, and they are freakin' stressed out. Now, of course there will always be bad soldiers in every bunch, just like there are bad teachers, lawyers, garbage men, etc. I do feel sorry for our troops though, who were sent over there with an unclear mission, and no real support from our commander in chief. Saddam also had women raped, and it doesnt make us look any better than him... I agree. Not all Americans are like that , obviously, and we don't all agree with the biggest terrorist in the world, the one in our White House.

Check it out man. I just came back a few months ago from Iraq. WE are not raping & murdering the innoncent like the media makes it seem to be. WE are training Iraqi Police & Army everyday so that soldiers like myself & many others have a better chance to go back thier. Believe me, I dont wanna go like the next guy, but if it helps out in the long run, then yeah Ill do it. If it means a safer place for my kids in the future, Ill do it.
As for the WMDs', read a newspaper. We found them & still looking for more. We will find them. All it is is a matter of time.
The biggest enemy in this type of war is the media & people who do not support the soldiers that are over there. Cut us some slack will you. Do what we do on a daily basis & lets see how you react.

Americans always seem to be more honorable when the cause we are fighting for is an honorable one. Iraq did not attack us, The war in Iraq is not the war on terrorism and no WMD was found (see below for the defense dept. admission). On top of that, recruitment is down so we’ve lowered our standards for recruits. The President and Vice President have been lobbing for torture, and the Attorney General is giving advice that it is OK .
As Americans, we have been brought up with the Ideals that we are the model, the beacon of freedom, justice and truth for the world. Our leadership is lowering those moral standards and we are divided over what to do and what is right. This conflict has to be affecting the troops as well.
Our troops are frustrated, they’re getting conflicting messages from our leadership. There is no clear cut enemy, The Iraqi’s don’t want us there and they don’t want their leaders to be seemingly taking orders from the US in the Green Zone. There is no exit and no winning. These are the conditions that have historically made us stumble and loose our moral compass. This should be no surprise to anyone, but it’s easy to rationalize any behavior in the name of patriotism.
‘
More and more people are realizing the mistake we made and are admitting it. Most people now realize the war was a mistake. Most people now realize that the direction of the country is wrong. And most people now realize that congress really isn’t up to the task of accomplishing anything of value.

There were no WMD found, in fact the Defense Department has just stated the same thing.

The military that you speak is nothing but a reflection of our society on a miniature scale. Why is someone in your town killing and raping innocent people? Is what you should be asking with this question. You dishonor the hundreds of thousands of brave men and women who are your family, friends, and neighbors, that joined for all the right reasons. Not everyone one in your town is a criminal. Why say that everyone in the military is? The individuals who committed these acts, would have probably done this at home if they had not joined the military. People in the military get training to protect themselves and there team to be a solider, but they don't get brainwashed to be a rapist and murders. There are many respected and law biding citizens in your community who are vets. They don't go around killing people here either. Myself, am respected former veteran in my community, I learned to use many types of weapons, from small arms, up to very large scale weapons. Yet today I don't even own gun. Please don't make such a broad statement like this without some facts.

Let's be clear, it is not the American military that is raping inncocent women in Iraq...it is INDIVIDUALS doing it on their own. The military does not condone or in anyway support this to my belief. I think you willsee severe punishment to those who are found guilty of this. Murder? That's what war is......state sponsored murder. It happens on all sides. War is horrible, not doubt. Too bad leaders on both sides of any conflict can not put their egos aside and find solutions via words. Shame on mankind for this, it has been going on throughout our known history. WMD? Thankfully, there were none. But there was very high suspicion there were some, and if true and in the hands of people who show little valus for human life....it was just too danger to risk not making sure. I know you won't like these answers, and I can predict your return arguements....but debate is healthy and I appreciate you starting it.

There are going to be bad people in any group. They will be punished if found guilty. The military is very strict.
WMDs have been found. This is a large, large country. Sadam never accounted for the ones left from the first gulf war and there are tapes of him talking to cabinet members about the weapons.
So, were are all the other world powers? Why were they happy to allow a dictator to systematically kill the citizens of his country? Money, perhaps? We know that UN members were being bribed by Sadam.

Stating that the "American Military" is raping and murdering innocents is akin to saying Saddam has an abundance of WMDs. Try making slightly less inflammatory statements if you want to be taken seriously...

I have no time for wrong doing by any people from any country, including mine, which is not America.
As for the WMD's. Do you really think Saddam got rid of them all? I don't, I bet they are in the countries on Iraq's border. Maybe without permission, but still there. Think about it, vast amounts of empty country, no one goes near, right on the borders.
And how about the capacity he still had for making WMD's? I might not trust Bush, but I would trust a dictator like Saddam even less.

there will always be some bad apples in the bunch and when these bad ones have the power and the opportunity to do something they will. it is tragic and they should be held accountable but we should not hand down judgements that all our military is like that. As for the WMD's ask Bush he hasn't been asked that question in a while. maybe his cronnies at the white house found something.

Your statement is stereotypical. I am fairly certain that there is at least one service member that has not raped and murdered innocent people in Iraq. Besides, with the Iraqia civil war, they are murdering one another- so what do you say about that? Who will you blame for that?
