I think he is and I certainly don't think he ruined us.
A lot of things presidents help put into action are not felt until years later. President Bush has been trying tirelessly to encourage and maintain a solid American economy. Without money, we have no leverage in the world.

I think Pres Bush had alot to deal with like the 9/11 and Katrina and maybe more was on his plate then other presidents as far as catastrophes. I am not happy with everything he has done and the Iraq war but I dont know how someone else would do any better either. I am not sure what to think anymore about Bush but I do think he has hurt us in many areas, including the deficit.

W had good intentions but he was trying to please too many people at the same time. He has definitely been the "president for this hour" in terrorism. No one could have done any better in those terms but fiscally, he dropped the ball. He has not vetoed ONE bill put before him and it is not because he is financing a war or dealing with Katrina. He has outspent any president in history, Democrat or Republican and that is where we disagree. We are giving terrorist countries MILLIONS of dollars we could be spending on the war or helping New Orleans recoup. Of course you need a mayor that wants to help the city instead of continuing his corruption. Bush has my vote though and I dread to see who either party throw up against the wall to run in 08. I cannot think of one person that I would vote for today that has made sounds like they are going to run for office of president. I will continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for George W.

No he's not a good president, and yes, he ruined us. I can understand going to Afghanistan due to the 9/11 incident. Why did he go into Iraq? Osama bin Ladin is suppose to be the prime target because he attacked us. bush became a president where he went "first strike" on a country. Now all other countries think they are allowed to "first strike" anyone because WE did it. People in the United States are economically in trouble because big business wants to hire illegals so they can pay them cents on the dollar or they are leaving our country to third-worlds to exploit them. Yet, he's worried about two men wanting to get married. It's getting worse, and he is doing nothing but making money by increasing gas prices due to this war and trying to keep control of Iraq. This country is in serious trouble....

No, he isn't good, not good for America, he needs to either be impeached or take his entire administration to Iraq so he can run that country. He needs to pay more attention to policies & procedures that deal with our economy, healthcare, to make life better for Americans, not turn it into a third world country; as that is where we are headed. He fails to address issues, to ensure equal access to overseas markets, the enactment and *enforcement of labor standards and environmental standards in our trade agreements and an end to currency manipulation that puts our good paying jobs at a severe competitive disadvantage. We need a global economy that works for working people, that raises living standards, expands freedom, strengthens human rights, improves our environment and lifts people up instead of shoving them down. Health care is another area where we are at a competitive disadvantage, yet this president has stood on the sidelines as health care costs soar out of control. It is unimaginable what people are paying for prescriptions, that could least afford it.

The United States, and some would argue South Africa, are the ONLY industrialized nations in the world without some form of national health care, and our country is paying a high price for that failure. The United States spends more on health care than any other country, yet we leave at least 46 million Americans uninsured and millions more under-insured, just one major illness or injury away from a financial disaster.

Katrina laid bare the failed policies, misplaced priorities and broken promises of this president. The truth was there for all of us to see. This president has failed, and failed miserably to attend to urgent business here at home. Meanwhile he has pursued a reckless, go-it-alone foreign policy that led our country into a war in Iraq with no exit strategy.

Bush was asked not long ago when our troops would start coming home from Iraq. His response was: "That's up to the next president". He seems clueless as to what is happening to the average American, the rest of his staff keep getting raises, it just isn't fair. The rush to name George W. Bush one of the worst presidents of all time is unfounded. Mr. Bush has unprecendented circumstances--a global terror war that is basically World War III for the new age--and he has made some questionable policy decisions.

He is nowhere near as bad as Herbert Hoover or Jimmy Carter, however. George W. is simply dealing with unprecendented circumstances with a "Monroe Doctrine" type of ethos that is not likely to increase US popularity around the globe.

His workload is possibly much much greater than any president for quite some time, including reagan and the cold war (WW3 as it is often called - hindsight you know). Is everything good? No. Did he make through OK? Ya, I think so. Should he have used his veto more? I think time will tell. The deficit and whatnot really showcase the congress more than the president, but you realize that of course.

I have only one thing I care about and that is how the U.S. Constitution is being interpretted (abortion, gay rights, separation of law and morality, etc) and in that regard Bush devastated my faith in him when he asked for the injunction to stop the counting of ballots in Florida.
