JimmieHendrix05:
1) It is your air-conditioner compressor trying to start pumping and the belt slipping on the pully.
2) **DO NOT! spray WD-40 on the belt. The squeal may stop but so will all the other thing that the belt drives, like the alternator, water pump etc.
3) It IS probably just an old serpentine belt, they dry out and harden making them slip. Replace the belt, they are easy to change and not expensive.
^^ If you change your Serpentine belt the squealing will probably stop.^^
If it does continue, however, the problem would be the Air-conditioner clutch inside the pulley assembly.
This you would want to have fixed by a A/C Service Tech.
I bet it's just an old belt.
By the way, keep the old belt for a spare. Put the old belt in the back under the seat. If you ever have a failure, you can put it back on in a few minutes and your on your way.

As kostura reported, it relatively is in straightforward terms an straightforward count number of having a loose serpentine belt. while the belt slips on the pulley's it motives the squealing sound you're listening to. that's slipping via fact once you run the AC and defrost it engages the AC compressor take carry of, this added load on the belt is sufficient to make it slip. The belt additionally runs the water pump/fan assembly, so while it slips it does not turn the pump and fan as quickly because it is going to so which you notice better temperatures. The belt would be actually tightened, yet while this does not treatment it then it has probable worn from slipping plenty and would get replaced. a clean serpentine belt could value under $30

that is deffinitly the belt using the ac puts a little more strain on the belt when you shut it off and then turn it back on it relives the strain, the belt is probably loose or worn or possibaly both. make surt that the belt is tight and that it has no cracks in it. it will need to be replaced if it is worn and will need to be tightened if loose you do this on the tensinor.

Check the fan belt, it might be to old. If theres alot of cracks in it it needs to be replaced. If its not that, try spraying WD-40 on the gears the belt goes around. That should work

Possibly change the belt, or tighten it, or even replace the tensioner, if its that kind of setup.
