Its just that your foot can be put in akward positions that your foot isn't normally in, and when left like that, it can cramp up.

well, sitting puts pressure on nerves running down your leg, as well as the constant motion of you stepping on & off pedals. It all can cut off blood flow to your foot. Try lifting your butt cheek every once in a while for a second or two; see if the flow of blood will relieve or prevent the foot aches. Scootch around a little, too...to change the muscles if you've been sitting for a while.

It could be what is called Plantar's Faciitis. I think I spelled it right.
It is very painful. It is a bone spur in the heal that causes the tendons to pull and to stretch causing a great deal of pain.
It can be corrected with proper insoles and sometimes cortizone injections.
If it is severe enough surgery may be needed.

That happened to me when I used to drive with a shoe that did not have a flexible enough sole - I'd drive in my workboots and they have no give so my foot would start to ache. Try driving in more flexible shoes.
