I usually talk to the guy and see if he is good company. If we get along then I let him know how I feel about him. There is no right way to go about it.

Be very careful. I don't know where you work, but there are so many laws out there with regard to dating in the workplace. Find out what the statues are in your workplace. If you start dating someone you work with and it doesn't turn out well, and that person starts up with someone else, if you are not mature enough to handle it - there could be some grief. I have seen fights break out in front of customers due to unreasonable and immature folks who thought 'just dating' on the job would not get out of hand. I would look elsewhere.

They will try to be in the same area as you but from a distance. They sometimes don't make eye contact and if they accidently do, they turn bright red. Or if you two talk to each other in the work place, they would probably flirt with you a little, laugh and giggle. That is what I did. ^-^
