I bought an unlocking code almost a week ago from http://www.instant-unlock.co.uk and haven't received the code, even after 2 emails. The phone number they have for queries isn't even complete! The site looks ok though, but obviously something's not right. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Jackie - I didn't think it was dodgey until I didn't receive the code. I emailed twice but still no code. The site looks all proper.

of course it's dodgy, its for nicked phones.
There customers will never report them.

Yes I understand in UK, the legitimate use is there because the phone providers give free/cheap phones with a package deal and don't want you to just take the phone and go somewhere else.
And no, it's not a security device (providers would like your phone to be stolen).

Solve the problem by ditching the crap phone with anyone's guess what other rubbish is embedded in it's programming, and buy a new one without a package.
Then insert sim card with best deal.

Every UK friend who comes to visit has this problem, they cannot use a perfectly good phone here even when it is there's and they have all the phone and simcard codes.
