Surely none compare to famous White philosophers.
Humor me.

jednci: Martin Luther was WHITE. MLK was not a philosopher but a political activist. That's like saying Jesse Jackson is a philosopher.. very idiotic.
Traffic Signal
Invented by Garrett A. Morgan in 1923? No!
The first known traffic signal appeared in London in 1868 near the Houses of Parliament. Designed by JP Knight, it featured two semaphore arms and two gas lamps. The earliest electric traffic lights include Lester Wire's two-color version set up in Salt Lake City circa 1912, James Hoge's system (US patent #1,251,666) installed in Cleveland by the American Traffic Signal Company in 1914, and William Potts' 4-way red-yellow-green lights introduced in Detroit beginning in 1920. New York City traffic towers began flashing three-color signals also in 1920.
Nice try though buddy.

So what stopped Africa and Africans from producing any inventions whatsoever over the last few thousand years while the Europeans were pumping out new inventions by the handful?
Who is the ignorant one here?

You my friend are the face of ignorance. Martin Luthar indeed was a philosphere. He philosphized about an end to racist fascists like yourself.
Jesus was a black man
A black man invented the stop light (yeah it may seem silly but it is much more complicated than you think
If it wasnt for black people being enslaved by barabarian pigs, then I am sure there would have been more black inventors, and theologians.

Hey there.
The most famous, and influential I can think of is Foucult. He has influenced both Western and continental philosophy immensly and is widely regarded as one of the most influential continental philosophers of the 20th century.
There are a large number of Islamic philosophers who are black, arabic, and asian; but they arn't mentioned much in western literature because of it's self-centered approach.
Aside that- I will admit that philosophy in America dominated by whites. Is it because white people are smarter or something like that? No, not at all. It's simply a matter of culture and common origins. Philosophy originated in Greece and spread throughout europe, hand in hand with christianity. Thus it's origins are largly anglo-roman (and thus white).
This is aided by the fact that in the last 200 years, since the dawn of universities in North America- obtaining a philosophical education has been something that has been overwhelmingly impossible- due to bigots such as poster of this original message.
Only in the last 20 to 30 years (that's TEN percent of a given possible timeframe) has it been socially possible.
So getting all cocky and saying "hahaha theres none in history" is comment based on supreme ignorance. Theres plenty of modern philosophers who are black. (like Foucult)

Buy this book it's called African American Philosophers.
Read it to see if any of them are worth mentioning.
Surely, none would compare to famous white philosophers because they aren't white.
Is that humorous enough for you?
Okay, let me name some that hopefully aren't in the book.
There is Bill E. Lawson and Lucius T. Outlaw.
Humor me, can you name any white philosophers in the United States who are alive today?
