open control panel
go to internet options
delete files (deletes temporary internet files)
- This can usually be done safely by your computer. Follow your system's recommendations for this and any other suggestions below. If in doubt, do NOT proceed.
then
view files- cookies list so you can delete individual cookies.
- You can delete all cookies if you choose. I usually allow cookies from the sites I often visit to remain listed. These are sites I trust and do business with regularly. Having these cookies active saves me time and keystrokes.
then
open your favorites list If you see a URL or title you don't want -
right click and delete.
do the same with your history folder.
Hope this helps.
A couple of days ago, I was researching side effects of a medication. Suddenly, a pop-up ad appeared inviting me to sign up for a dating list. I closed it and went on with my work. The ad appeared again. I tried going to another site, another window opened up with the same ad.
If I recall correctly, the steps above are those I took and the ads have not reappeared.

You can't! I have been trying to figure this one out ever since I broke up with girl whose name was on that pulldown as "appearing online only to... [her name]" and now everytime I see that I sob! Maybe you could try getting a new account. Like I should too.
