I would like to make a positive difference to society or family or to an individual...it's so hard to know the right question to ask bar just for the sake of filling space. What do you think is the best approach to my concern and do you share the same concern?

heres a good question-- how do i make an infinite energy circuit

heres the answer---

pyramid of 1 mole copper, 2 mole gold, 4 mole Zn i think, something with 1/16th resonance to human body particular maybe more dense than Zn, but w/e... then 1/2 mole iron the center

all o this like a jawbreaker- u feed 7 repeating written in base 30 hz through the bottom four points....

178% extra electricity will come out if you do it right, that is if you use what you're supposed to use and maybe that zn is just not it either, but w/e id like to communicate w/ somebody on this experimental privelage

also check the last question i just answered, it had a really good role in this planet's evolutionary status

So the basic question is: how might I make a positive difference in the lives of others. What do you do well? You could teach children or adults how to do something creative. You could hold book discussion groups or something similar to bring people together. Volunteer for the Big Brother/Big Sister program. Give blood. No matter where you live there are elderly nearby who have difficulties getting groceries and cleaning their house and yard. There are a million ways to make a difference in the lives of others and almost everyone has a need for assistance in some area of their lives.

This may sound harsh and it's not meant too. Stop dithering and questioning and go out and do something good. Sart with small things like helping an old lady across the road, Offer to go shopping for somebody in need and build it up to the saving of the world bit. If each of us did a little bit of good then society would automically become a better place.
NB: Yes I do practise what I preach!! :-)

I think you got the whole concept twisted. Of course intelligent question add value for all who those read the answers. But I guess
a) Yahoo answers is not conceptualized to be place where people compete to ask questions. Rather, its a place to where people compete to provide better quality of answers for questions that are genuinely being seeked for answers. Its not a chat forum.
b) Your desire for servicing family, society or individual is commendable. But don't do it just for self-gratification or for show-off if that at all happens to be the case. Yahoo answers is not the place for you to invest your energy. Look around yourself and you will find plenty of opportunity to serve others and make a positive difference.
c) If you are really serious about your intent, I would suggest start with your family first. See what can you do in your day to day life to make positive different to your parents, your brothers/sisters and to your friends.

I wish I could make a positive difference too. I haven't asked any questions yet, because I see so many people answering smartassedly and just to get the stupid points. However, I make a great answerer, and do wish I had a good question. But usually I answer my own questions. :)
Blessed Be

Like everything in life ... think too hard about it and it will fog over ..... lighten up ,,,, chill out in any direction you can and ideas will drift in and out ..... probably subconciously but clearly enough to make up a fascinating poser. If you think about it, everytime we have a meaningful chat to a partner or friend, there is invariably an exchange of questions and solutions .... that is what daily life is all about .... solving things, moving things on ..... just grasp any moment, play with it, expand your mind on it and something ponderable is bound to happen. The most intensive thinking is done in the quiet ..... try it ...

Of course I understand. You pull up the box, and you start to write all those questions you have had all these years, or at least one of them, and suddenly your brain can only remember what you had for dinner, or you rehearse in your head what you should have said to that sob that threatened you this morning. The problems we face are so complex, we can't really think about them face on.

Ask a simple questions first. Then you can proceed to the more complex ones, and from there to something you would really like to have the answer to.

At least that's my theory. I'm answering questions for the moment.

I do feel your pain. I too would like to make a positive difference in your life if only I had the meaningful answer to the elusive question stuck in your subconscious.

You want to make a positive difference? DO something for someone - they won't care about your search for a question. You want to know a meaningful question? Okay, here's one for you plus the answer.
Question - Why?

Answer - Why not?
