Sharp razors are a must! No second day or used underarm razors.

Make sure the hairs have been soaking for quite some time. Better to shave in the bath as opposed to the shower.

I scrub the skin first with a Buf-Puf to raise the hair and to shed skin cells around the follicle (which sometime become irritated when shaving).

Use good razors. I swear by the Gillette Daisy for women. It's got this aloe strip which gets all good and slimy when you're shaving. This great slime makes the razor glide over the skin and prevents burn.

I'm a dark brunette, so I've just about tried everything!

Use clear caladryl lotion, yes the same one used for poison ivy and bug bites. It takes the burning sensation away and cools your skin.

Stop using razors. Use one of those chemical laden hair removal lotions that give you skin cancer instead.

it has to go away on its own. Make sure you exfoliate before you shave and make sure to use shaving cream or soap.
